Initial results of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy for treatment of lacrimal duct occlusion at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital in Hai Phong

Abstract
The study was conducted on 39 eyes of 31 patients with lacrimal duct occlusion at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital in Hai Phong from January 2021 to November 2022. The patient underwent Endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (EN-DCR) with silicone intubation, assessed 1 month, 3 months and 6 months postoperatively. Results: The median age was 59.16 ± 13 (23-80); the most common symptom is watery eyes and pus mucus (100%), the duration of the disease averages 48.6 ± 51.7 months; the overall success rates were 87.2% (34/39) and 94.9% (37/39) at 3 and 6 months postoperatively. Research data shows that Endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital achieves good results, safety, and few complications. The application of this technique has contributed to enhancing access to services and bringing convenience to patients, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at the Hospital.
