Abstract

Objective: Tonsillectomy can cause many dangerous complications that can even lead to death such as bleeding, postoperative pain, anesthesia complications, infection, etc. Postoperative pain is a concern for surgeons. Postoperative pain not only affects the patient's mood, sleep and diet, but also increases the risk of dehydration, bleeding and infection, slowing down the patient's postoperative recovery process. Therefore, effective control of postoperative pain is also an important indicator of nursing quality. This study aims to discuss and analyze the level of pain and pain relief care for patients after tonsillectomy. Method: Case report of a patient with severe pain after tonsillectomy. Results: The patient's report shows the effectiveness and role of nursing in caring for patients after tonsillectomy. Conclusion: In addition to implementing medication orders for patients, nurses play an important role in the process of caring for patients. Detect and assess the level of pain to intervene promptly to help patients reduce pain.
