Evaluate the correlation between histopathology and some clinical features of chronic tonsillitis

Abstract
Objectives: To evaluate the correlation between histopathology and some clinical features of chronic tonsillitis. Subjects and methods: A prospective study on 38 patients were diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis, had tonsillectomy at the Department of Otolaryngology, Military Hospital 103 from January 2022 to August 2022. Results: Male and female was 50%. At the group of age 6-15 chronic inflammatory-hyperplasia 66.7%.
At the age of 16-25 group pure hyperplasia 40%. At the age of group 26-35 chronic inflammation-hyperplasia 54.5%. Age group 36-45 chronic inflammatory type 66.7%.
There was a moderate correlation between histopathology group and cough, the correlation is statistically significant (r= -0.427; p<0.05). There was a moderate correlation between the histopathological groups and tonsillar cryptic debris (r=-0.484; p<0.05). Conclusion: There is a moderate correlation between histopathology group and cough. There was a moderate correlation between the histopathological groups and tonsillar cryptic debris.
