Abstract

Objective: To describe a case of pharyngeal gonorrhoea associated with oral sexual practices, and propose strengthening the role of ENT specialty nursing in screening and preventive counseling. Method: Case study. Results:  Following detailed sexual history collection by specialized nursing staff, the patient was definitively diagnosed with isolated pharyngeal gonorrhoea. The patient received dual antimicrobial therapy. This case illustrates that pharyngeal infection is often asymptomatic, posing a risk of being an unrecognized disease reservoir. Conclusion: The crucial role of nursing staff in detailed sexual history collection is essential for accurate diagnosis and effective disease control.
