Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the results of posterior cordotomy surgery with microdebrider in the treatment of bilateral vocal cord paralysis in midline position. 
Subjects: 21 patients diagnosed with bilateral vocal cord paralysis in midline position had posterior cordotomy surgery with microdebrider at Emergency department of the National Otolaryngology Hospital from March 2023 to September 2024. Methods: Prospective study, case clinical interventional study. Results: 43% patient did not need tracheaotomy before cordectomy and tracheal canulla could remove after a few days in tracheaotomy group. After surgery, 85,72% of patients had no dyspnea, 90,48% of patients had glottis width over 5mm and most patients had mild to moderate voice disorders, Conclusion: Posterior cordotomy surgery with microdebrider has good results, improving the quality of life for patients. It is the first time microdebrider has been use in posterior cordotomy surgery with many advantages.
