THE ROLE OF NURSING IN CARING FOR PATIENTS AFTER OPEN NECK SURGERY TO DRAIN DEEP NECK INFECTION IN PATIENTS WITH AFRICAN FIBRILLATION USING ANTICOAGULANTS: A CASE STUDY

Abstract
Objective: Nursing care for patients after paracervical drainage surgery for deep neck infection in patients with atrial fibrillation who are being treated with anticoagulants.
Method: Case study. Results: We describe a case of a patient who underwent paracervical drainage surgery for deep neck infection in a patient with atrial fibrillation who is being treated with Warfarin 5 mg/day. After surgery, bleeding, infection and abscess were treated stably after paracervical drainage surgery and active antibiotic treatment according to the antibiogram with daily irrigation and care of the surgical site. Conclusion: Nursing care for patients after paracervical drainage surgery for deep neck infection in patients with atrial fibrillation who are being treated with anticoagulants includes many complex contents and requires coordination from many specialties and many members of the care team.
Improving knowledge and skills in caring for patients with ENT emergency diseases on the basis of patients with severe internal medical conditions with many risks is essential for ENT nursing practice.
