Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: Benign laryngeal conditions are on the rise, leading to voice disorders that significantly impact the quality of life, especially for those who use their voice daily. This study aims to assess the compliance of patients with the Voice Hygiene Program (VHP) and identify the factors related this compliance. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 60 patients from April to September 2023. Results: The most common age group was 41-60 years (55%), with the female-to-male ratio being 2:1. The majority of patients were from rural areas (53.3%) and had at least a high school education (83.3%). Those who frequently use their voice accounted for a high percentage (71.7%). Compliance with the VHP was mainly at good (51.7%) and fair (43.3%) levels, with statistically significant differences across age, gender, location, education level, and occupation. Conclusion: Most patients complied with the VHP at a fair or better level, underscoring the importance of interventions to improve compliance and enhance quality of life.
